About
Mission: To inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.
Junior Achievement (JA) is a nonprofit organization that focuses on empowering young people to succeed in a global economy by providing educational programs that teach financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work readiness. Founded in 1919, JA operates in over 100 countries, with a strong presence across the United States and numerous local chapters, such as Junior Achievement of Central Texas or Junior Achievement of New York.
Mission Statement
JAs programs are designed for students of all ages, from kindergarten through high school, and are typically delivered in classrooms by volunteers from the local business community. The programs provide real-world learning experiences that help students develop the skills they need to make informed financial decisions, explore career possibilities, and understand how businesses and economies function.
In addition to its core programs, Junior Achievement also promotes mentorship, leadership development, and the cultivation of entrepreneurial mindsets. The organization hosts events, competitions, and workshops where students can apply their knowledge and gain hands-on experience.
By inspiring students to achieve their full potential, Junior Achievement plays a critical role in preparing the next generation of leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs.
