About
We take one-time volunteers for a variety of projects like painting, repairing enclosures, making squirrel vitamin balls, landscaping, etc. No animal contact/entry into the facility where the animals are will be allowed due to wildlife rehab permit regulations.
We also take regular volunteers for other opportunities including being a foster for orphaned wildlife, preparing diets and cleaning at the rehab center, etc. These opportunities may have animal contact as needed for care once on our wildlife rehab permit.

Mission Statement
Re-Wilding Indiana is a non-profit wildlife hospital and rehabilitation center created to care for the increasing numbers of orphaned and injured wildlife in Central Indiana. The organization was born from a partnership between Avian and Exotic Animal Clinic of Indianapolis and Hancock Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation. Our skilled team provides specialized medical care through the wildlife hospital in Indianapolis and provides comprehensive rehabilitation through the wildlife rehabilitation center in Fortville, efficiently returning the animals to their natural habitats whenever possible. Committed to serving both wildlife and the community, we also engage in educational outreach programs to foster awareness and stewardship of Indiana’s native species.
