Adult Basic Education (ABE) Tutor

The Legacy Center for Community Success believes everyone deserves a chance to succeed.  Our programs help learners develop specific skills and build individual confidence.  We foster a love of learning and community relationships based on grit, enthusiasm, and perseverance.

The Adult Basic Education program serves adults of all ages and abilities.  Learners may be seeking a GED, earning professional certification, or building basic reading and math skills.  We offer high-quality, one-on-one tutoring in one two-hour weekly session, year-round.  Any learner who qualifies for our program is accepted, regardless of their ability to pay for services.  We gather baseline data both internally and externally to measure the impact of tutoring.  We celebrate when learners accomplish their goal, and the learner graduates from our program.

Volunteer tutors meet with one learner for two hours a week. Training is provided and all tutoring materials.  Volunteers must complete a background check.  A one-year commitment is preferred.
