About this Opportunity
Volunteer feeders will cover at least one regularly scheduled feeding shift each weekor as arranged with the barn manager. It takes approximately 1 hour to feed our herd. Everything is explained during training, but nothing has to be memorized; all directions are written down in the feed room for the feeders to follow each day. We are looking for volunteers that can commit to one regularly scheduled shift each week.
Depending on the day, feedings are usually scheduled to start between 7-8 in the morning and 4-5 in the evening.
Qualification and requirements:Minimum age of 16
Reliable, trustworthy, self-motivated
Must attend Anam Cara's Feeder Training
Should be able to perform duties such pulling a cart, lift the hay, lift water bucket etc.
Responsibilities and expectations:
Are responsible for feeding horses during committed time
Responsible for administrating prescribed supplements during feeding
Check and refill water troughs as needed
Take directions from barn manager
Report to the barn manager any injuries or noticed abnormalities
Communicate with barn manager any noticed needs
